Toyota Gives Scion Brand the Axe

No more FRS?  Say it ain’t so Toyota!  Today is a sad day for the Gen X/Y that have grown with the brand that sparked a new generation of enthusiasts.  Toyota has officially dropped it’s Scion brand due to very lackluster sales over the past 5, 6, 7 years.  A brand that kicked things off with its tC and the beloved XB a.k.a. bB a.k.a. Xbox, back in the mid 2000’s has seen their buyers grow up and then branch out to other auto brands seeking more thrill and performance.  Toyota hoped the soon to be classic FR-S would be a resurgence of sorts with the drift crowds, but a 240SX can be bought in the used car market for couch change.   Scion recently launched the iM and iA models with celebrity endorsements from James Franco and Jaleel (Steve Eurkel) White in an attempt to connect with the 35-45 year old demographic.  NOT WORKING TOYOTA!!!  Kids that buy these cars want those massive and exclusive Scion parties you used to throw and of course MOAR POWA! They want drift events and the JDM Scion quirkiness and…MOAR POWA!  Hahaha just had to say that again. 

Farewell Scion!  I bid you adieu, you will be missed!  )-;
